Livable Oakland operates under the guiding principle that healthy neighborhoods are the glue that holds cities together. Businesses, such as hospitals, that take over residential areas must work closely with their neighbors to create healthy and family-friendly communities.

To save our neighborhood from turning into a concrete wasteland, and to set an example, we have launched a grassroots campaign to deter Children's Hospital from building a 200 foot tall tower in a residential neighborhood.
